Meet Elizabeth Granato
A lifelong resident of Chicago and proud CPS mom, Elizabeth Granato is dedicated public servant with fifteen years of experience delivering results for our communities.
Raised by a single mom whose union job provided stability for her family, Liz is a second-generation Latina who worked summers as a lifeguard to help her become the first in her family to graduate from college. The granddaughter of an immigrant small business owner who started as a seamstress when she came to Chicago and a union carpenter, Liz represents the promise of the American dream.
Granato currently serves as Bureau Chief of the Cook County Bureau of Asset Management, and has served in key leadership roles in infrastructure, operations, and community development throughout her career.
She serves on the Planned Parenthood of Illinois Action Board, and recently served on both the Palmer Elementary Local School Council as a community representative and the North River Expanded Mental Health Services Program and Governing Commission, which administers local tax dollars to expand access to mental health services on the northwest side of Chicago. Granato is also a graduate of the premier organization dedicated to preparing women to serve in public office, the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership Training Academy.
She lives in the North Mayfair neighborhood of Chicago with her husband Ram Villivalam and their two boys, Rohan and Lokesh.
